Course Overview

This course is created to help beginner pianists learn the piano by teaching them to read notes and play classical piano music. This course contains 2 semesters and each of those semesters has 9 lessons and those lessons each have 2 weeks worth of material.

Do you want your child to be able to play piano and read piano music, but don't want to schedule another outing out of the house or are struggling to find the right teacher? If so, you will love your child learning classical piano with this course.

By the end of this level, your child will have completed the equivalent of what they would have learned in 1 year's worth of private lessons.

Start Below

"What kind of instrument do I need for this course?"

You must have daily access to a piano or keyboard. If you are using a keyboard it is recommended to have 88 keys with weighted keys.

"I already have a keyboard, but it does not have 88 keys and the keys are not weighted, can I still use it?"

It is possible, but not recommended because you will quickly advance beyond the number of keys on that instrument. One of the skills we will be focusing on in this course is building finger strength, which is not possible to do with non-weighted keys.

"What is a good age for my child to begin this course?"

Since this course requires children to be able to learn on their own, it is designed for students 8 years old and up. However, if a 5-7 year old wants to learn piano using this course, that is possible! Children younger than 8 will need parents to sit in on the lessons with them and help them during their daily practice times.

"How much will my child need to practice?"

For this level, it is recommended to play piano 5 days a week. Each day will either be learning the new lesson or practicing the homework assigned and should take between 10-20 minutes a day.
